મળી છે આ જિંદગી મહામહેનતે, એ તું ભૂલે છે શાને
મારા-તારાના ભાવો જગાવી હૈયે, તું ખુદને બરબાદ કરે છે શાને
અહીંનું બધું અહીં પડ્યું રહેશે જાણીને આ વાત, તું ખોટી માથાઝીક કરે છે શાને
ધન-દોલતના નશામાં ડૂબીને, ખુદને બેઘર તું કરે છે શાને
ખબર નથી જ્યાં એક પળની, ત્યાં ઉમ્મીદોની મોટી દીવારો બાંધે છે શાને
ખ્યાલોમાં ને ખ્યાલોમાં રહીને, કરવાનું છે જે એ તું ચૂકે છે શાને
સીધી રાહ પર ચાલવાને બદલે, અવળી રાહે દોડે છે શાને
અમર થવાને બદલે મરી મરીને, જીવવાનું પસંદ કરે છે તું શાને
ચાહે છે તું સુખ-સાહ્યબી સાચી, તો હરિ સિવાય બીજે મન લગાડે છે તું શાને

cāra divasanī ā jiṁdagīnē, laḍāī-jhaghaḍā nē vērajhēramāṁ vitāvē chē śānē
malī chē ā jiṁdagī mahāmahēnatē, ē tuṁ bhūlē chē śānē
mārā-tārānā bhāvō jagāvī haiyē, tuṁ khudanē barabāda karē chē śānē
ahīṁnuṁ badhuṁ ahīṁ paḍyuṁ rahēśē jāṇīnē ā vāta, tuṁ khōṭī māthājhīka karē chē śānē
dhana-dōlatanā naśāmāṁ ḍūbīnē, khudanē bēghara tuṁ karē chē śānē
khabara nathī jyāṁ ēka palanī, tyāṁ ummīdōnī mōṭī dīvārō bāṁdhē chē śānē
khyālōmāṁ nē khyālōmāṁ rahīnē, karavānuṁ chē jē ē tuṁ cūkē chē śānē
sīdhī rāha para cālavānē badalē, avalī rāhē dōḍē chē śānē

By only thinking and thinking, why do you forget to do what needs to be done?
Instead of walking on the straight path, why are you walking in circles?
Instead of becoming immortal, why do you prefer to die while living?
You want to have true happiness and luxury, then why do you connect your mind to other things and not with God?
