ભુલાવ્યું, ભુલાવ્યું, ભુલાવ્યું ભૂલોને, ભૂલોમાં અમે બધું ભુલાવ્યું
જન્મ આપ્યો જેણે, ઉપકાર એનો તો ભુલાયો
પૂર્યા જેણે પ્રાણ દેહમાં, આભાર એનો તો ના અદા કર્યો
લીધો શ્વાસ જે હવામાં, એ હવાનો ઉપકાર તો ભુલાયો
રહ્યા જે ધરતી પર, એ ધરતીનો આભાર ના મનાયો
દીધું જેણે જ્ઞાન જીવનનું, એ ગુરુનો ઉપકાર ભુલાયો
હતું જ્યાં સુધી સુખ, ત્યાં સુધી તો ભુલાવ્યું
પણ યાદ આવ્યું, યાદ આવ્યું, યાદ આવ્યું!
આવ્યું જ્યારે દુઃખ, પ્રભુનું નામ ત્યારે યાદ આવ્યું
માનવો હતો ઉપકારનો આભાર, એ તો ના મનાયો
“અરે! કરીએ છીએ ઉપકાર અમે તો બધા પર”, એ જ લાગ્યું
જીવીએ છીએ, ઉપકાર છે પ્રભુનો એ તો
અને ત્યારે જ પ્રભુનો આભાર માનવાનું યાદ આવ્યું

bhulāvyuṁ, bhulāvyuṁ, bhulāvyuṁ bhūlōnē, bhūlōmāṁ amē badhuṁ bhulāvyuṁ
janma āpyō jēṇē, upakāra ēnō tō bhulāyō
pūryā jēṇē prāṇa dēhamāṁ, ābhāra ēnō tō nā adā karyō
līdhō śvāsa jē havāmāṁ, ē havānō upakāra tō bhulāyō
rahyā jē dharatī para, ē dharatīnō ābhāra nā manāyō
dīdhuṁ jēṇē jñāna jīvananuṁ, ē gurunō upakāra bhulāyō
hatuṁ jyāṁ sudhī sukha, tyāṁ sudhī tō bhulāvyuṁ
paṇa yāda āvyuṁ, yāda āvyuṁ, yāda āvyuṁ!
āvyuṁ jyārē duḥkha, prabhunuṁ nāma tyārē yāda āvyuṁ
mānavō hatō upakāranō ābhāra, ē tō nā manāyō
"arē! karīē chīē upakāra amē tō badhā para", ē ja lāgyuṁ
jīvīē chīē, upakāra chē prabhunō ē tō
anē tyārē ja prabhunō ābhāra mānavānuṁ yāda āvyuṁ

Forgotten, forgotten, forgotten the mistakes, in those mistakes we forgot everything.
The one who gave us birth, their kindness was forgotten.
The one who filled this body with life, their gratitude was never expressed.
The air in which we took our breaths, the favor of that air was forgotten.
The earth upon which we lived, that earth's compassion was never celebrated.
The one who gave the knowledge of life, that Guru’s kindness was forgotten.
As long as there was happiness, everything remained forgotten,
But then it was remembered, remembered, remembered!
When sorrow arrived, the name of the Lord was finally remembered.
The gratitude that was meant to be offered for these favors, was never shown.
Instead, we felt, "Ah! We are the ones doing favors for everyone else."
We are alive, and that itself is the Lord’s blessing,
And only then, did we remember to thank the Almighty.
