But circumstances ended up bending us instead.
We wanted to move mountains in our life,
But we could not even move a single pebble.
We talked so much about love in our life,
But we could not offer true love to anyone.
We roamed around acting like brave warriors in life,
But when the time came, we sat down like cowards.
We wanted to laugh in life, but could not laugh even for a moment;
Instead, we just kept weeping bitterly.
We talked of trust, yet we remained entirely devoid of trust,
The moment our goals were not achieved, we became faithless.
We wanted to praise and appreciate others,
But we could never rise above singing our own praises.
