દુનિયામાં સૌ કોઈ બીજાના ઘરમાં ઝાંકતા જાય, પોતાની પરિસ્થિતિ ભૂલતા જાય
આ તો કેવી રીત, જગમાં જાણવી છે બહુ અઘરી (2)
બંધાયેલા ઘરને તો પાડતા જાય, પડેલા ઘર પ્રત્યે દયા વ્યક્ત કરતા જાય,
કરેલા પ્રયત્નો પોતાના, ભૂલતા જાય, આ તો કેવી રીત...
જે વાતે રડ્યા હોય પોતે, એ વાતે બીજા પર તો હસવા જાય
સીધી રાહ પર ચાલનારને, ગુમરાહ કરતા જાય, આ તો કેવી રીત...
અમૃત ભરેલા કટોરામાં, ઝેર નાખતા જાય, પોતાના દુઃખે દુઃખી થાય
પણ બીજાના દુઃખે પરમાનંદ પ્રાપ્ત કરતા જાય, આ તો કેવી રીત...
આ બધું કર્યા છતાં, મોઢે મીઠું તો બોલતા જાય

duniyāmāṁ sau kōī bījānā gharamāṁ jhāṁkatā jāya, pōtānī paristhiti bhūlatā jāya
ā tō kēvī rīta, jagamāṁ jāṇavī chē bahu agharī (2)
baṁdhāyēlā gharanē tō pāḍatā jāya, paḍēlā ghara pratyē dayā vyakta karatā jāya,
karēlā prayatnō pōtānā, bhūlatā jāya, ā tō kēvī rīta...
jē vātē raḍyā hōya pōtē, ē vātē bījā para tō hasavā jāya
sīdhī rāha para cālanāranē, gumarāha karatā jāya, ā tō kēvī rīta...
amr̥ta bharēlā kaṭōrāmāṁ, jhēra nākhatā jāya, pōtānā duḥkhē duḥkhī thāya
paṇa bījānā duḥkhē paramānaṁda prāpta karatā jāya, ā tō kēvī rīta...
ā badhuṁ karyā chatāṁ, mōḍhē mīṭhuṁ tō bōlatā jāya

Everyone in this world keeps peeking into others' homes, completely forgetting their own condition;
What kind of way is this? It is so incredibly difficult to comprehend this in the world!
They keep tearing down well-built homes, while falsely expressing sympathy for homes that have already collapsed.
They completely forget their own struggles and missteps; what kind of way is this...
The very things they once cried over; on the same things they mock and laugh at others,
They deliberately mislead those who walk on a straight and righteous path; what kind of way is this...
They drop poison into bowls filled with nectar; they cry over their own miseries,
Yet they derive supreme bliss from the misfortunes of others; what kind of way is this...
And despite doing all of this, they continue to speak with sweet words!
