પ્રભુ, છે આ તારી માયાવી નગરી, રંગો એમાં તેં તો ભર્યા છે ભાત-ભાતના. એ રંગોમાં છે એક જ રંગ સાચો, તારા નામનો. પ્રભુ, કોશિશ કરું છું હું એ બધા રંગોથી ના રંગાઈ જાઉં. તારા રંગમાં ભીંજાઈ જાઉં. ચઢાવે છે તું તો ભક્તિરૂપી પાકો રંગ તારા ભક્તને. પણ ચીકણી છે સપાટી મારા હૈયાની, નથી રહેતો તારો લગાવેલો રંગ મારા હૈયા પર. ચમકે છે થોડી વાર હૈયાની સપાટી, ત્યાં તો પ્રભુ, અહંના બાણથી વિંધાઈને ખરબચડી એ બની જાય છે. બીજા રંગોમાં ન નહાયા છતાં પણ એ લાગી જાય છે. તારા નામનો રંગ ટકાવવો એ તો સહેલું નથી, પણ પ્રભુ, શક્તિ આપજે મને કે સમર્થ હું બની જાઉં.

prabhu, chē ā tārī māyāvī nagarī, raṁgō ēmāṁ tēṁ tō bharyā chē bhāta-bhātanā. ē raṁgōmāṁ chē ēka ja raṁga sācō, tārā nāmanō. prabhu, kōśiśa karuṁ chuṁ huṁ ē badhā raṁgōthī nā raṁgāī jāuṁ. tārā raṁgamāṁ bhīṁjāī jāuṁ. caḍhāvē chē tuṁ tō bhaktirūpī pākō raṁga tārā bhaktanē. paṇa cīkaṇī chē sapāṭī mārā haiyānī, nathī rahētō tārō lagāvēlō raṁga mārā haiyā para. camakē chē thōḍī vāra haiyānī sapāṭī, tyāṁ tō prabhu, ahaṁnā bāṇathī viṁdhāīnē kharabacaḍī ē banī jāya chē. bījā raṁgōmāṁ na nahāyā chatāṁ paṇa ē lāgī jāya chē. tārā nāmanō raṁga ṭakāvavō ē tō sahēluṁ nathī, paṇa prabhu, śakti āpajē manē kē samartha huṁ banī jāuṁ.

O Lord, this is Your illusory world, and You have filled it with varieties of colours. Among all those colours, there is only one true colour, which is of Your name. O Lord, I try to avoid getting coloured by all those colours and get drenched only in Your colour. You paint Your devotee with the permanent colour of devotion. But the surface of my heart is slippery, your applied colour does not stay on my heart. The surface of my heart shines for a moment, but then O Lord, it becomes rough upon being pierced by the arrows of ego. Even without bathing in other colours, they still end up clinging to me. To sustain the colour of Your name is certainly not easy, but O Lord, grant me the strength so that I become capable in it.
